Dr. Steven C. Smith is an Assistant Professor of Sacred Scripture at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD. After a Catholic upbringing, Dr. Smith spent some years in evangelical “mega-churches” and earned his M.A. at Wheaton College Graduate School, an evangelical university. Returning to the Catholic Church in 2000, Dr. Smith earned a Ph.D. from Loyola University of Chicago, specializing in New Testament and Early Christianity. Dr. Smith frequently speaks in parishes, seminaries, and universities, and has appeared on EWTN and Catholic Radio. He is the author of numerous essays and two books, his most recent being The House of the Lord: A Biblical Theology of the Temple in the Old and New Testaments. Dr. Smith and his wife have two children and live in rural Maryland.
