St. Catherine of Siena is one of the greatest and most controversial figures in the Church. In the short 33 years of her life, she influenced political circles, brokered peace between cities, commanded generals, scolded the Pope, and wrote one of the greatest works of medieval literature. Though some abuse her image to promote a false understanding of femininity, St. Catherine's sole goal in life was to glorify God.
